The styles of Glass and Haydn are served up here by way of four works of rich yet distinct designs. From Haydn, the OSM presents Symphony No. 101, “The Clock,” whose tick-tock listeners will no doubt recognize, and the Violin Concerto in C major, not often played, under the dynamic bow of violinist Pinchas Zukerman. With these, two works by the great magician Philip Glass, the “Prelude” from his opera Akhnaten, and Company, a marvelous illustration of his output.
