Join us as we celebrate Ruth’s year as the MAC Artist in Residence in 2022/23, as she discusses her work with Glenn Patterson, and performs with special guests.
An intimate evening of piano music, musical collaborations, and reflection that promises to draw the audience into McGinley’s unique and soothing sound world.
In conversation with acclaimed writer Glenn Patterson, Ruth reflects on her life, career, and musical journey in a year that saw her release her second album ‘Aura’, perform globally as a soloist again, and how her MAC residency nurtured her daily search for creative and personal glimmers.
An array of music will be performed including works by Rachmaninoff, Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt, Gary Moore and Neil Martin. The latter of which will be collaborating with Ruth on stage, as well as collaborations with Kate Ellis (cellist and artistic director of the Crash Ensemble who has recently collaborated with U2’s Bono in live shows) and the fabulous Philippa O’Hara (of the multi-talented O’Hara sisters known for ‘Lush Classical’ as well as their own unique and breathtaking sound).
