Composé un an avant Einstein on the Beach et huit avant Akhnaten – deux opéras qu’a déjà dirigés Léo Warynski –\, Another Look offre une expérience grisante : écriture répétitive et référence au chant grégorien médiéval s’y entrelacent dans un dialogue hypnotique\, à la fois minimaliste et d’une profuse richesse. Singulière par nature\, la partition du compositeur américain l’est aussi par la rareté de son interprétation en concert. Léo Warynski et Les Métaboles lui rendent doublement justice en la portant à la scène et dans la scénographie de Céline Diez et Clément Debailleul\, dans l’esprit de cette porosité entre les arts propre aux années 1970. Un voyage intérieur où le cercle fait matrice et loi\, une traversée du temps finalement hors du temps.
