SUMMARY:Burlington\, VT (Violin Concerto No.1)
DESCRIPTION:Buy Tickets \nOn Valentine’s Day\, VSO welcomes Grammy Award-winning violinist Jennifer Koh to perform Philip Glass’ Violin Concerto No. 1 in an eclectic concert mixing American and Romantic music. A student of VSO’s fourth music director Jaime Laredo\, Koh is a hugely in-demand performer of contemporary violin repertoire with premieres of more than 100 works composed especially for her. Glass’ Violin Concerto No. 1\, one of the composer’s most often performed works\, is preceded by Frank Zappa’s fast-paced\, riveting piece from his 1993 album The Yellow Shark. For the romantic at heart\, lush orchestral suites from Georges Bizet’s Carmen and music by 19th C. French composer Augusta Holmès complete the afternoon concert. \nThe concert begins at 3:00 p.m. and is preceded at 2:00 p.m. by Musically Speaking\, a free pre-concert discussion that provides entertaining insight into the evening’s program. \nPROGRAM Andrew Crust\, conductor Jennifer Koh\, violinFrank Zappa (arr. Askin) – G-Spot Tornado Philip Glass – Violin Concerto No. 1Augusta Holmès – La nuit et l’amour Georges Bizet – Carmen Suites Nos 1. and 2

DESCRIPTION:https://www.pharealucioles.org/le-milieu/la-saison/spectacles-vivants/2025-2026/15-02-2026-erwan-keravec-cornemuse-solo \nErwan Keravec \nCornemuse solo \nLa cornemuse comme instrument universel !

SUMMARY:Marseille\, France (Two Pages)

SUMMARY:New York\, NY (Dublin Guitar Quartet)
DESCRIPTION:https://www.92ny.org/event/dublin-guitar-quartet \n Program Details \nNikita Koshkin  – Changing the Guard \nRachel Grimes – Book of Leaves \nKilar – Orawa \nPhilip Glass  – Piano Etudes Nos. 2\, 9\, 16 and 20 \nPhilip Glass – String Quartet No. 2\, “Company” \nStravinsky – The Rite of Spring  \n Read notes on the program \nOverview \n“A wonderful ensemble. The Dublin Guitar Quartet has carved a place for itself in the world of classical music. I am delighted that my music is part of their repertoire.” – Philip Glass \nThe Dublin Guitar Quartet is unique in the music world – the only classical guitar quartet dedicated entirely to contemporary music – earning raves for illuminating what repertoire for the guitar can be\, with their mind-blowing arrangements of works by Philip Glass\, Steve Reich\, Arvo Part\, and others. \nThey join us with music by Glass – an arrangement of his String Quartet No. 2\, “Company” – enthralling for four guitars (get a preview in their NPR Tiny Desk performance) – and a selection of his Études\, and more\, closing the concert with their extraordinary adaptation of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. Experience the quartet’s reimagining of the work – based on Stravinsky’s own piano version – as they give new expression to a masterpiece of modernism through the wide color palette and capabilities of four guitars.
