In what has been a relatively quiet compositional period (I count only two works composed in 2008 (the Zaragoza Fireworks piece & Four Movements for Two Pianos)) after the incredible 2007 which saw the birth of Appomattox–Book of Longing-Songs &Poems and three film scores), it was announced today that Philip Glass will have a new chamber piece for Violin and Piano which will premiere in Harrisburg Pennsylvania on February 28, 2009 at the Whitaker Center.
