SUMMARY:New York\, NY (Evening Song No.3 (World Premiere))
DESCRIPTION:https://citywinery.com/new-york-city/events/tim-fain-unraveling-live-notes-lno9x3 \n Tim Fain: Unraveling LIVE Notes \nA cinematic journey through sound\, silence\, and the human spirit.  \nDate and Time:Mon Dec 8 at 7:00 PM / 6:00 PM Doors City Winery NYC presents Tim Fain: Unraveling LIVE Notes live on Monday\, December 8th\, at 7:00 PM! \nWorks by some of today’s most influential and innovative voices come together in violinist/composer Tim Fain’s epic playlist of imaginative pieces for solo violin\, paired with immersive visuals\, in this brand new solo show inspired by the recent release of his latest album Unraveling on Delos. A virtuosic program of emotional extremes\, woven together with video projections\, forms a narrative of despair\, confusion and hope\, amidst the spiraling decline of society. World premieres of Philip Glass’ strikingly intimate ode to silence and isolation Evening Song No. 3; Meredith Monk’s hypnotic Return to Earth (arr. by Fain); and Fain’s title work Unraveling\, scored for 17 layered and looped violins; appear alongside Glass’ haunting Sarabande in Common Time\, John Corigliano’s disintegrating “fiddle music” STOMP; Missy Mazzoli’s off-kilter Bach reflection Dissolve\, O My Heart; Bryce Dessner’s minimalist\, structurally austere Ornament in Crime (which Fain recorded for Apple TV’s Manhunt); and Esa Pekka Salonen’s Lachen Verlernt\, a dystopian musical exploration of a world without laughter. The evening is a testament to the moments of transcendence and meaning which have emerged during these volatile and uncertain times.
