Released in 1982 and scored by Philip Glass\, Godfrey Reggio’s wordless cinematic masterpiece spotlights the complex relationship between nature\, humanity\, and technology. For this presentation at Northrop Auditorium\, the nine-piece Philip Glass Ensemble performs the entirety of the soundtrack live\, with film projection. Moving between time-lapse visuals of urban decay and slow-motion sequences of natural landscapes\, the documentary creates a poignant portrait of the beauty and turbulence of our modern world. \nCopresented with Northrop and Liquid Music.
