Philip Glass Film Scores is a live recording at Mozartsaal, Stuttgarter Liederhalle in Stuttgart, Germany on July 4, 2004 featuring Michael Riesman and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra with Michael Riesman as soloist and conductor performing his arrangements for piano and orchestra of famous Philip Glass film scores.

Suite from “The Hours”, co-commissioned by Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra, is a concert suite in three movements arranged by Michael Riesman for piano, strings, harp and celeste from the motion picture soundtrack by Philip Glass to the film by Stephen Daldry The Hours adapted from the book by Michael Cunningham’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, starring Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, and Meryl Streep.

Other arrangements by Michael Riesman from film music by Philip Glass included here are The Secret Agent (arranged for strings), The Thin Blue Line (arranged for strings), Overture from La Belle et la Bête (arranged for piano and strings), Closing from Breathless, originally from Glassworks, (arranged for piano and strings) and Suite from “Dracula” (arranged for piano and strings). The program also includes Runaway Horses from Mishima (original orchestration for strings and harp).
