Richard Goode, Piano
Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 comes to life in the hands of pianist Richard Goode, one of today’s most insightful interpreters of the Classical repertoire. With a touch that balances clarity and warmth, Goode draws out the concerto’s elegance, emotional depth, and flashes of wit, revealing Mozart at his most expressive and human.
Philip Glass’ Symphony No. 3 shifts the sound world entirely, unfolding with driving, pulsing rhythms and ever-evolving harmonies. Scored for strings alone, the work has an intimate, chamber-like intensity, with each musician stepping forward as a solo voice within the larger ensemble.
Stravinsky’s Pulcinella closes the program with irresistible charm and theatrical flair. Inspired by Baroque-era melodies and reimagined through Stravinsky’s unmistakable voice, the music is playful, unpredictable, and full of color, bringing the evening to a vibrant and spirited finish.
