There are few composers that hold as extraordinary and unprecedented an influence as Philip Glass. His Piano Etudes distil a lifetime of transcendent music into 20 deeply personal self-portraits.

In one evening, 10 master pianists from around the world will perform Glass’ etudes, each bringing their distinct interpretations to two pieces before handing over the keys to the next pianist. To hear any one of these musicians is a privilege, this concert brings you 10.

Across Australia, a performance of Glass’ work is always an event. In Adelaide, it is a homecoming. Four decades ago, Adelaide Festival commissioned a bold new work from Glass, while in 2014, Adelaide hosted the world-first performance of his colossal Portrait Trilogy.
