Celebrating Two Great American Composers

A visceral feast for the senses, this programme pushes the boundaries of musical imagination through the mastery of two important American composers. Jing Wang, Concertmaster of the HK Phil, takes centre stage for Glass’s The American Four Seasons, an evocative work that invites listeners to interpret the seasons through their own imagination. HK Phil’s Resident Conductor Lio Kuokman leads in Adams’s high-octane Short Ride in a Fast Machine and the monumental Harmonielehre, a powerful, immersive journey through intricately woven layers of concentrated orchestral texture.

The concert runs approximately 2 hours 5 minutes with an intermission.
