Gabriela Lena Frank’s Elegía Andina is a striking fusion of her Peruvian heritage and Western classical form that evokes the haunting majesty of the Andes. Next, while virtuosic pianist Jenny Lin performs Philip Glass’s mesmerizing Concerto for Piano No. 2 “After Lewis and Clark”, an epic minimalist expedition across the American frontier.

The journey culminates with the drama and grandeur of Robert Schumann. Featuring the mystical Scenes from Goethe’s Faust and the radiant Symphony No. 3 “Rhenish”, inspired by the beauty of the Rhine River.
