The world learned yesterday that Doris Lessing passed away at age 94.  An extraordinary woman with an extraordinary life, she penned the libretti for two Glass grand operas "The Making of the Representative for Planet 8" in 1988 and "Marriages between Zones 3,4, and 5" in 1997.  These were two parts of a proposed trilogy by Glass drawn from Lessing's Canopus in Argos series.
