Carl St. Clair Conducts the Pacific Symphony in Philip Glass' Passion of Ramakrishna

“Kepler”  (OMM): Philip Glass’ latest opera is a musically cosmic meditation on the cosmos, replete with Glass’ trademark moves and some exciting new ones. A live recording from the Linz, Germany, premiere in 2009 is thrillingly conducted by Dennis Russell Davies and an excellent warm-up for Pacific Symphony’s Glass festival in March.

—Mark Swed

The Festival he's referring to is the Pacific Symphony dusting off the four year old major work The Passion of Ramakrishna.  It's a large 45 minute work for solois, chorus, and orchestra and a humdinger of a piece and it's part of the orchestra's "The Passion of Philip Glass" fesitval.
