Glass Notes wishes best wishes and much happiness to Trevor Gureckis and Sugar Vendil who will tie the proverbial knot this weekend.  Trevor and I worked together for many years when he was Philip Glass' musical assistant.  A composer in his own right, Trevor went on to bigger and better things.  Sugar Vendil is a 21st Century Classical Music Visionary.  The two most recently collaborated on a ballet Potential Energies which premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Why the scene from the film Stoker above?  The piano performance that you hear is actually Sugar and Trevor – and yes Glass intentionally wrote this so the one player has to put his arm around the other player.  It's a different take on Romanticism in music.
