and it includes a production of Galileo. I think it's a good turn towards these types of smaller pieces some of which I consider masterpieces. Portland Opera is doing Galileo opera as well next season.

I’m so happy to see Galileo being performed. It is a wonderful opera, and I have great memories going to see a dress rehearsal of it in Chicago with Fran, Marv and of course, Philip.

I’m pretty sure that the previous productions weren’t done “as written” because they were done by theater companies. I’m guessing these two productions by fine companies won’t take any short cuts. It’ll be great to hear Galileo in all its glory.
