Wow, only $9.99 in the U.S.! iTunes in New Zealand has it at NZ$18.99, and that’s with the exchange rate at NZ$0.86 in the US$1.00 (by my calculation it should be convert to NZ$11.62). I think I’ll save my money for something I don’t already have 3 versions of.
I bought Koyaanisqatsi Live with the New York Philharmonic
on iTunes today.
It goes with the other
recordings of Koyaanisqatsi I have, plus The Philip Glass Ensemble Retrospective CD.
In “Prophecies”, I heard the Hopi language a lot clearer than on the studio recordings.
Well worth ten bucks (or maybe a hundred)! Organic (always a fav of mine) sounds better than ever, Pruitt Igoe kicks butt, and the organ in Prophecies is finally so clear!
I like Organic as well.
Until now, there are a lot
of things in Koyaanisqatsi Live that I couldn’t hear
in the previous recordings.
For example: a keyboard
superimposed over the flute/clarinet in Organic.
An awesome recording at an awesome price!
I agree, some parts are much clearer than in previous recordings.
I really love the full orchestra!
Great job Philip and Company!!!

… yeah, who am I kidding; of course I’ll end up getting it (God, I am some kind of junkie, or what?)!
