Long-time champion of Glass' piano music and friend of the program Bruce Brubaker is performing a concert this Saturday at 8PM in one of my favorite concert halls in the world, the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport Massachusetts. 

The new hall, with great acoustics and a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean, presents Brubaker as part of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival in a program featuring the music of John Cage (100th birthday anniversary) and Philip Glass (75th).  Brubaker has for years been performing the piano works of Philip Glass.  He is the only other pianist besides Dennis Russell Davies and Glass himself, to have access to the Glass piano études.

Indeed, one étude, no.4 will be on the program along with Mad Rush and Metamorphosis.  This is a rare occasion to hear this uniquen artist.  I encourage all in the region to check it out.
