The State Opera of South Australia has annouced that it will be producing Philip Glass' original Portrait Trilogy of Einstein on the Beach, Satyagraha, and Akhnaten from the 5th to 23rd August 2014.  The team behind it includes Conductor and Chorus Master Timothy Sexton; Director and Choreographer: Leigh Warren; Set and Costume Designer: Mary Moore; Lighting Designer: Geoff Cobham and State Opera Chorus, Leigh Warren Dancers and the Adelaide Art Orchestra.

The complete trilogy hasn't been done in three decades since Germany in the early 1980s. Whereas Satyagraha and Akhnaten went on to become repertory operas since their premieres, to my knowledge this will be only the second presentation of "Einstein on the Beach" not including the Robert Wilson elements and not including the Philip Glass Ensemble.
