US Premiere of Glass Ninth Symphony Announced!
Carnegie Hall has announced its 2011-12 season which includes a big concert in the big auditorium of the US Premiere of Philip Glass' Symphony No.9 performed on the composers actual 75th birthday of January 31, 2012.
Glass mentioned last week in an interview in Tasmania, posted below, that he had finished the piece. Historically speaking, that's something of a relief. We have to wait only 375 more days to hear it!

Awesome! I hope to make it there (I attended the premiere of Symphony No. 6 at Carnegie Hall). A Philip Glass 75th Birthday Concert should be 100% Glass though!
I’m listening to this symphony just now. Live recording of a concert on an Austrian radio station. It’s sounding great.
Concert over.
Time to catch breath.
We are so fortunate!!!
