Musica per Roma has announced the world premiere performances of The Witches of Venice in Rome. The OMM recording a couple of years ago was a presentation of a piece which had basically been lost. In the mid-1990s, Glass was commissioned by Teatro alla Scala in Milan to compose/record a children's opera/ballet.   The live performances at La Scala were danced to the recording.

In 2006 it was dramatically re-sequenced and edited by OMM on its recording to fit the Montresor children's book off which it was based. That recording caught the attention of Parco della Music in Rome e poi, ecco le streghe di venezia!
