New Release: Philip Glass, iTunes Classical

Released today on iTunes:

As part of an iTunes series selecting masterpieces from the history of classical music, Philip Glass is one of two living composers chosen for the project.  This album, Mastered for iTunes, was put together especially for this series.  The album includes Glass' Symphony No.8, Duos Nos.1-5, and the composer's Concerto for Harpsichord & Orchestra.

  1. It was actually released in 2006 under the Orange Mountain Music label…
    My question is about the Duos. I thought that the work was part of the Double Concerto for violin, cello and orchestra but I only count four duos there…

  2. Yes, the four duos are part of the Double Concerto and are the same recordings as those. However, the complete chamber work, Duos Nos.1-5 include No.1a. So this is the first presentation of the complete chamber work. Though if you only need that track, you only need that track. Its a digital only album anyway.
